Meet Daniela Chavira
Journalist Intern at the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Daniela Chavira
Daniela Chavira was born in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico and is a proud Tempe native. She is a daughter of immigrants, a first-generation college student, and a recent graduate from the Honors College at Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in pre-law. After experiencing the hardships of applying to higher education, she began advocating for first gen students impacted by the inequalities of immigration and education policies. Working directly with students and families, she has dedicated her life to increasing community knowledge and bridging gaps within our educational systems. As the Writer/Journalist Intern at the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Daniela seeks to raise awareness about the impact of Hispanic communities by uplifting their stories within the AZHCC's flagship publication DATOS: The State of Arizona's Hispanic Market. Daniela is genuinely passionate and committed to serving her community whether through serving as a volunteer for Hospice of the Valley, advocating for immigration and education reform, and researching current gaps in the literature. She hopes to attend graduate school in the fall of 2025 and continue pursuing higher education within the fields of education and psychology focusing on researching language acquisition and the bilingual brain.
